Before Recording
- Know what songs you will be recording. Doing so will save you time in the studio.
Make a list of the songs in the order you would like them to appear on the CD.
- Know your songs. If at all possible, have your songs memorized. Doing so
will allow you to sing with more feeling and excitement resulting in a better project.
- If recording with soundtracks. Hilltop Recording will not record a project
with pre-recorded tracks unless the artist(s) has released the tracks from the soundtrack company.
- If we make your soundtracks. We will need a demo tape of your songs with your
vocals. This can be done with just a guitar or piano or soundtrack, as long as we can hear the
recording plainly. Most important of this is 1) The correct key, 2) The speed of the song.
- Backup vocals. If we are providing backup vocals, we will need a copy of
the words to each song.
- Hilltop Recording does not take care of any royalties, this is the responsibility of
the artist.
- Day of Session. Come to the studio expecting to enjoy the day. We will do all that we can to
make this a fun experience. We do not in any way pressure our clients because we too want this to
be your best project ever.
